I purchased this thermometer as there are questions as to the accuracy of the digital and forehead scan thermometers. If you wish to obtain a true temperature, test under the armpit before getting out of bed. I enjoy having a real thermometer that I can trust the accuracy of the unit. I recommend this thermometer.

During weeks of serious illness, I monitored my temperatures at home and in the hospital. As I suspected, the digitals are good for trending general ups and downs. If you want accuracy, use mercury. Those are no longer available, however I do have one. I used the digital first, then the mercury thermometer.

It's nearly impossible to find old-fashioned thermometers in the stores anymore. This is a bit wider than the ones I used to have, but is flat enough to be comfortable. This product is made in India and thank you for the quick delivery
